The worst kept secret in Irish Sport was confirmed today
as Waterford FC announced that Pat Fenlon and Alan Reynolds are to form the
clubs new look management team.
Fenlon who has managed Shelbourne, Derry City, Bohemians,
Hibernian and Shamrock Rovers in the past is to take up the position of
Director of Football while former Waterford United Longford Town and Shamrock
Rovers player Reynolds who has coaching experience as Manager of Waterford
United between 2004 and 2005 working alongside Paul McGrath as Director of
Football, as well as working as head coach at Derry City and Assistant first
team coach at Cork City, takes over as Head Coach with The Blues.
The Blues have also confirmed three new players today.
Paul Murphy signs from South East Rivals Wexford Youths.
Dean O’Halloran joins the club after playing with Fulham and Bohemians, while
Dave Mulcahy rejoins the Blues after a spell with Cork City.
Pat Fenlon will bring plenty of experience to the
Suir-side club having won five League of Ireland titles with Shelbourne and
Shamrock Rovers and helped Hibernians to reach consecutive Scottish Cup Finals
in 2012 and 2013.
Alan Reynolds was in charge of Waterford United when they
reached the FAI Cup Final in 2004 and will be hoping his experience of helping
the Blues to win promotion twice as a player will stand to him.
